The ZOS Server

Architecture

ZOS’ Location Intelligence resides in the cloud within the ZOS Server. The platform is completely software based. ZOS’ proprietary server algorithms working in conjunction with the ZOS Mobile Client garners location through tracking and polling routines, and enables robust interaction with mobile devices. The ZOS server architecture is comprised of internal communications channels available through the ZOS Mobile Client, externally-available location APIs, location algorithms, and optional interfaces to 3rd party location data sources.

ZOS’ proprietary intelligent server-side algorithms make the most of device sensor (radio) data (i.e. GPA/A-GPS, Cell-ID, Wi-Fi access points) available to optimize location accuracy and response time. Device polling and location update cadence, used to establish the device’s location, are configurable to meet the requirements of a wide range of enterprise use cases and to maximize battery life.

Server API/SDK

Like the ZOS Mobile Client, the capabilities of the ZOS Server can be readily integrated into 3rd party applications through the use of ZOS’ server APIs. The ZOS APIs are available to ZOS technology partners that wish to incorporate location awareness into their applications.
